W. Bro. William MacDonald
Buchanan Lodge No.550
Passed December 29, 2012
Bill celebrated his 80th birthday on December 2nd. Loving husband of Vilma for 58 years. Bill was an active member of Buchanan Lodge, and Custodian of Hillcrest Temple.  A Masonic Service will be held at The Hillcrest Masonic Lodge, 257 Mohawk Road West, Hamilton, on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to your local S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.

 


W. Bro. George Pearson
Buchanan Lodge No.550
Passed December 6,2012
Passed away December 6, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital, at the age of 67 years.  Past Master of Buchanan Lodge No. 550.  Noble of Rameses Shriners and member of the Shrine Club of Hamilton, 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason - Valley of Hamilton.  A celebration of George's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 58 (1180 Barton Street East, Hamilton) on Sunday, December 16th from 2:00-5:00pm with a tribute and Masonic Service from 3:00-4:00pm.

 


Bro. Russell Herbert Irvine
Seymour Lodge No.272
Passed December 1,2012
Passed to the G.L.A. Saturday December 1st, 2012 at Hamilton General Hospital. Russ was a humble and selfless man who lived his life, quietly devoted to service. During his 60 active years in Masonry (at St Andrews Lodge, Hamilton and Seymour Lodge in Ancaster where he was an honorary member), Russ was awarded the William Mercer Wilson medal by the Grand Lodge of Canada. Russ was also a 33 degree Mason. Active in Ryerson United Church, Ancaster, for 60 years, Russ was faithful in many capacities, but particularly as a member of the "Sunshine Committee", visiting the sick and giving assistance to those who appealed to the church for help. Russ was an employee of Bell Canada for 34 years, working often in remote parts of Canada. During WWII, he also served in the Canadian Army's Scott's Fusiliers infantry.

Visitation will be held at the Cattel Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th followed by a Masonic lodge Service at 8:45 p.m. The funeral celebrating Russ's life will take place at RYERSON UNITED CHURCH, 265 Wilson Street, East in Ancaster at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5th. Visitation one hour prior to the service.

Passed October 21,2012
Bro. Reg Wheeler who was initiated in 1954 passed to the G.L. above on Oct. 21, 2012. A masonic memorial service will be held at Don V. Brown Funeral Home (36 Lake Ave., Stoney Creek) on Thursday Oct. 25 at 9:00 p.m.
